Mirpur Put on High Alert Following Islamabad Terror Incident

Mirpur: Following the recent blast in Islamabad, security has been significantly tightened across Mirpur Division of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with authorities placing the region on high alert.
Mirpur Division Commissioner Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan has issued directives to enhance security arrangements at all entry and exit points, as well as sensitive and important locations across the three districts of the division.
Authoritative official sources told APP that divisional authorities have instructed the Deputy Commissioners of Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimber to adopt comprehensive security measures in view of the Islamabad incident.

The directives include heightened vigilance at key sites, strengthened monitoring of entry points, and increased surveillance to identify and track any suspicious individuals.

Responding to a question on Sunday regarding the explosion that occurred in Islamabad on the afternoon of February 6 local time, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said China mourns the victims and extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
“China is deeply shocked by the deadly explosion in Islamabad and the heavy casualties it has inflicted. We mourn the lives lost, and our hearts go out to the injured and those who have lost their loved ones,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that China firmly condemns the attack, opposes terrorism in all its forms, and fully supports the Pakistani government in its efforts to safeguard national security and stability, as well as protect the lives and safety of its people.
China reiterated its solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult time, emphasizing its continued support in the fight against terrorism.
