Massive Fire Erupts in Quetta, Joint Operation Underway

Quetta: A massive fire broke out in the cantonment area of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, on Tuesday, triggering an emergency response from provincial authorities.
On the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, a large-scale fire containment operation has been launched, with the Director General of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issuing special instructions and the Director Rescue personally leading the operation on the ground.
A joint firefighting effort involving PDMA, the District Administration, Metropolitan Corporation Quetta (MCQ), and FC Balochistan is actively battling the blaze.

Firefighting teams have managed to bring the fire under control at the ground floor and are currently working to extinguish flames at the first floor and basement levels of the affected structure.
Officials said 500 fire balls have been used so far, while another 500 have been dispatched to the site. All available PDMA rescue personnel, fire tenders, and water bowsers have been deployed to contain the fire.
To ensure uninterrupted operations, WASA has been placed on standby to maintain water supply, while coordination is underway with the Forest Department to provide additional water bowsers for on-site refilling of fire trucks.
As a precautionary measure, SSGC and QESCO have been asked to suspend gas and electricity supplies in the affected area.
Authorities said the operation was ongoing and further updates would be shared as the situation develops.
