Islamabad: Preparations for Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH) are gaining momentum across the country, with streets, mosques, and homes being decorated with colorful lights and banners as citizens gear up to mark the blessed occasion with devotion and unity.

Organizers in different cities told a state news channel that special Milad Mehfils, processions, and prayers are being planned to honor the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). They said particular focus is being placed on ensuring safety arrangements during larger gatherings to facilitate peaceful and inclusive participation.

In light of the recent floods that have devastated parts of the country, communities are also holding special prayers for the victims. “This year, we not only celebrate the birth of the Prophet but also pray for the victims of the floods, hoping for their speedy recovery and safety,” said one organizer in Islamabad.

Alongside spiritual activities, citizens and mosque committees have launched food distribution drives to support flood-affected families. “Eid Milad un Nabi brings communities together not just in joy, but in solidarity, especially this year when many families are facing hardship due to the floods,” said a mosque official in Lahore.

Meanwhile, markets across major cities are witnessing a surge in demand for decorative items such as flags, lights, and banners. Shopkeepers reported brisk sales as families prepare to adorn their homes and neighborhoods. “People are buying lights and decorations to bring a festive spirit into their homes, as it is an important part of the celebrations,” said a local vendor.

Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH), observed on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, is marked each year with great religious fervor across Pakistan through prayers, processions, and community gatherings.
