Man Held For Faking iPhone, Cash Theft in Lahore

Lahore: Garhi Shahu police arrested a man, identified as Osama, for staging a fake robbery involving Rs 850,000 and an iPhone, officials said on Friday.
According to details, Osama, an employee at a private factory, was entrusted by his employer with Rs 850,000 to deposit in a bank. Instead, he hid the cash and made a fake call to police helpline 15, claiming he had been robbed at gunpoint of both the money and his iPhone.
Acting promptly, Garhi Shahu police launched an investigation and, with the help of CCTV footage, arrested the suspect within 24 hours.
SP Civil Lines Chaudhry Azar Ali confirmed that the stolen cash and the iPhone were recovered and returned to their rightful owners. He added that a case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
The SP announced that certificates of appreciation would be awarded to the SHO and the Garhi Shahu police team for their swift and effective action.
