Light 3.6-Magnitude Quake Shakes AJK

Islamabad: A light earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale was recorded in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) during the past 24 hours, according to real-time seismic monitoring data. The region, located along active fault lines, continues to experience frequent tremors, with updates issued within minutes of detection.
Seismic data for 2025 indicates that AJK has so far recorded 37 earthquakes of magnitude 2.0 and above. These include:
- 1 quake above magnitude 5.0
- 7 quakes between magnitude 4.0 and 5.0
- 26 quakes between magnitude 3.0 and 4.0
- 3 quakes between magnitude 2.0 and 3.0
