LHC Halts Medicine Price Hike, Orders Withdrawal
News Desk
Islamabad: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued an order to halt the implementation of the notification regarding an increase in the prices of life-saving medicines by the caretaker government.
This decision comes as the Court suspended the notification, which had granted pharmaceutical companies the authority to determine medicine prices.
Justice Shahid Karim presided over the hearing of a petition filed by Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Lahore. Advocate Nadeem Sarwar represented the petitioner in court.

The petitioner argued that the cabinet’s decision to delegate the power of setting drug prices to pharmaceutical companies exceeds the authority of the supervisory cabinet, emphasizing that such authority does not lie within its jurisdiction.
