Lawyers Threaten Islamabad March Over Sindh Concerns

News Desk

HYDERABAD: Leaders of the legal community in Hyderabad have issued a stern warning that they will march on Islamabad if ongoing conspiracies to divide Sindh are not halted.

The lawyers, gathered at the All Sindh Lawyers Convention on Saturday, emphasized their commitment to safeguarding fundamental rights, judicial independence, and the rule of law.

During the convention, organized by the Hyderabad chapter of the High Court Bar Association (HCBA), prominent figures including HCBA president Ayaz Tunio and Sindh Bar Council vice chairman Ishtiaq Memon voiced their concerns.

A joint declaration was released, underscoring the necessity for unity among lawyers to amplify their collective voice on pressing national and provincial issues.

The declaration highlighted the legal fraternity’s resolve to continue advocating for the supremacy of law and the protection of human rights.

This call for action reflects broader concerns within Sindh regarding political stability and the integrity of the legal system, which could have significant implications for governance and civil rights in the region.

Looking ahead, the lawyers plan to devise a joint strategy to address these issues and are expected to convene further meetings to solidify their stance. The potential march on Islamabad underscores the escalating tensions and the legal community’s determination to influence policy and protect their rights.
