Lahore: In an effort to provide relief to Lahore’s residents, anti-smog measures, including the spraying of disinfected water, are underway in key areas of the city. Targeted locations such as Abbott Road, Gulistan Chowk, Haji Camp, and Empress Road are being treated to reduce air pollution. Residents can report high pollution levels by calling 1373, allowing authorities to respond promptly.

As part of this initiative, encroachment removal operations around Haji Camp and Empress Road have led to the clearing of vendor carts and temporary structures. Tree planting efforts are also ongoing in the Shimla Pahari area to improve air quality.

Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced that the Punjab Chief Minister’s multi-sectoral action plan against smog is being actively implemented.

Disinfected water is being sprayed in smog-prone zones, particularly around Shimla Pahari, to help mitigate air pollution.

Minister Aurangzeb encouraged citizens to adopt carpooling to reduce vehicle emissions and noted that parking outside the NADRA office has been relocated to minimize congestion.

Additionally, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is closely monitoring emissions from power generators on Empress Road.

Firefighting teams have extinguished a large garbage fire, resulting in three FIRs, and environmental regulations are being enforced by closing several open barbeque points in the Shimla Pahari area.
