KP Colleges Closed Over Security Concerns
News Desk
Islamabad: As a precautionary measure, the Higher Education Department of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has decided to close colleges and universities in anticipation of potential protests by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
This decision affects numerous institutions, including Girls Frontier College and City College in Peshawar, as well as several others in districts like Mardan. Furthermore, examinations scheduled in various colleges, including Girls Frontier College and City College, have been postponed.
This action has been taken to ensure the safety of students in response to nationwide calls for protests, including in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, concerning the issue of Khatm e Nabuwat.
In DI Khan, female students at Government Degree College were allowed to leave early based on security directives received from Peshawar.
The sudden dismissal caused panic among students and parents, resulting in a stampede within the college premises.
However, all students were safely evacuated from the college. Security forces and police quickly cordoned off the college building to manage the situation and restore order.
