Kohat: The Deputy Commissioner of Kohat, Abdul Akram Chitrali, has issued a flood alert in the district following warnings of potential flash floods in the Swat River.

In response to the looming threat, Additional Assistant Commissioner-II conducted an emergency visit to the Khushalgarh area on Friday, urging the public to exercise extreme caution and avoid approaching the riverbanks.

To ensure timely dissemination of safety instructions, the district administration has directed Tehsildar Gumbat and Deputy Tehsildar Gumbat to make public announcements in residential neighborhoods and mosques situated near the river.

Rescue 1122 has been put on high alert and instructed to closely monitor the situation while making emergency preparations in case of a flood-related crisis.

District administration and Rescue 1122 sources have appealed to citizens to fully cooperate with authorities and strictly adhere to the safety guidelines being issued. Public vigilance and compliance, they stressed, are crucial to minimizing potential damage and ensuring the protection of lives.
