Key Suspect Arrested in ICT Child Abduction Case

Islamabad: In a significant operation, Tarnol police claimed to have arrested the primary suspect involved in the abduction of a minor for ransom.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Muhammad Arsalan Shahzaib announced during a media briefing at the Rescue 15 office on Friday.
According to SSP Shahzaib, the suspect, along with accomplices, abducted the child and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. The incident came to light when the childās father filed a report at the police station. Using the phone number provided by the kidnappers, the police traced the suspect.
A case (No. 993) was promptly registered under Section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) at Tarnol Police Station. Shahzaib identified Akhtar Nawaz, a neighbor of the victim, as a key figure in the crime. āHuman intelligence played a vital role in cracking this case,ā the SSP added.
Inspector General (IG) Police Ali Nasir Rizvi took immediate notice of the incident and formed a special police team to investigate. Utilizing both technical and human resources, the police successfully traced and rescued the child in a remarkably short time.
Efforts are underway to apprehend the accomplices still at large. āWe are determined to ensure the arrested suspect faces full legal consequences,ā SSP Shahzaib said.
The childās parents expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Islamabad Police for their swift action and effective efforts. āWe are deeply thankful to the police for rescuing our child,ā they said.
IG Rizvi lauded the police teams for their outstanding work and announced rewards for their exemplary performance in resolving the case.
