ITP Issues Traffic Diversion Plan for Rally in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Saturday announced a traffic diversion plan in view of a religious rally scheduled to be held on Sunday, aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow and facilitating commuters.

According to an ITP spokesperson, the diversions will remain in effect from 1pm to 3pm, and citizens have been advised to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.

Under the plan, Aabpara Chowk will remain completely closed for traffic coming from Srinagar Highway via Suhrawardy Road. Motorists are advised to use Seventh Avenue from Srinagar Highway as an alternative route.

Similarly, traffic from the Shell Pump towards Aabpara Chowk via Suhrawardy Road will remain closed. Road users have been directed to use Srinagar Highway through Old MNA Hostel Road instead.

Melody Chowk towards Aabpara Chowk via Municipal Road and Suhrawardy Road will also be closed for traffic. Citizens travelling from Lal Masjid towards Aabpara have been advised to use Shaheed-e-Millat Road.

In addition, Chand Tara on Seventh Avenue towards Aabpara Chowk via Suhrawardy Road will remain completely closed, with motorists advised to use Srinagar Highway.

The spokesperson said ITP officers will be deployed at key points to guide citizens and manage traffic during the diversion period. Commuters were urged to plan their journeys accordingly and cooperate with traffic police personnel on duty.
