Is Your Marriage Registered in NADRA’s Database Yet?
News Desk
Lahore: In a rare advisory that has caught the public’s attention, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has urged all married citizens to update their marital status in official records to avoid potential legal complications.
According to NADRA sources, many individuals have registered their marriages with local Union Councils but have not updated the information in NADRA’s central database. The oversight, while seemingly minor, could lead to legal or administrative issues in the future.
The authority has emphasized that married citizens should promptly visit NADRA centers to ensure their marital status is correctly recorded. To make the process more accessible, NADRA has also launched an SMS alert service, notifying citizens to update their records.
“This is part of our ongoing effort to maintain accurate and up-to-date citizen data,” NADRA officials said. Citizens seeking further guidance can call the helpline at 1777 (mobile users) or 051-111-786-100, or visit www.nadra.gov.pk.
With this unusual advisory, NADRA reminds the public that even small administrative steps—like updating marital status—can carry big implications.
