Ireland Announce Squad for ODI Series Against West Indies
News Desk
Dublin: Ireland have announced a 14-player squad for their upcoming three-match Women’s One-Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies, marking the start of their campaign in the new ICC Women’s Championship cycle.
Captain Gaby Lewis will continue to lead the side, while experienced all-rounder Orla Prendergast has been retained as vice-captain.
The series comes just weeks after Ireland produced one of the biggest results in their women’s cricket history by defeating the West Indies by six wickets during the group stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The victory was Ireland’s first-ever win at the tournament and provided a major confidence boost ahead of the ODI series.
The West Indies, meanwhile, enter the contest after an impressive T20 World Cup campaign in which they reached the semi-finals before being eliminated by Australia.
All three matches will be played at Bready, with the opening ODI scheduled for July 10, followed by the second match on July 12 and the series finale on July 15.
Ireland squad: Gaby Lewis (captain), Christina Coulter Reilly, Alana Dalzell, Sarah Forbes, Amy Hunter, Arlene Kelly, Louise Little, Aimee Maguire, Jane Maguire, Kia McCartney, Cara Murray, Leah Paul, Orla Prendergast (vice-captain), and Rebecca Stokell.
The series offers both teams an early opportunity to secure valuable Championship points as they begin their quest for qualification for future ICC global events.
