Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the terrorist incident in Gwardar on Thursday.

Minister Naqvi expressed deep sorrow and grief over the killing of seven people in the heinous incident.

He expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and said that the government equally shares the grief of the bereaved families and standing with the grieving families in the hour of sorrow.

Beasts who play with the lives of innocent people do not deserve to be called human beings, said the minister in his message.

“We are committed to the complete elimination of the scourge of terrorism,” Mohsin Naqvi said.

According to the details, at least seven workers from Pakistan’s Punjab were killed and another one was injured in a terrorist attack in the early hours of Wednesday night, as reported by ARY News, citing police sources.

The terrorists targeted residential quarters near Fish Harbour Jetty in Gwadar’s Sarband area, opening fire on sleeping individuals.

Seven people lost their lives, while another sustained injuries in the attack. The deceased and injured individuals are reported to be from Punjab’s Sahiwal. Their bodies were taken to a nearby hospital, and the police have commenced an investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.

This incident follows a similar assault on May 1, where terrorists targeted a police check post in Punjab’s Taunsa Sharif district, resulting in injuries to seven policemen. This marked the second assault on the checkpoint within two months.

According to police officials, the attack occurred at the Jhangi checkpost in Wahova, Dera Ghazi Khan. Six officers sustained injuries and were subsequently transferred to Taunsa Sharif THQ hospital for medical assistance.

The Punjab Police spokesperson confirmed the attempted terrorist attack on the Jhangi checkpoint, stating that the terrorists aimed to capture the police checkpost and take the policemen as captives.

Prompt action by law enforcement agencies prevented the terrorists’ intentions, securing the area and launching a thorough search operation to apprehend the culprits.
