Islamabad: The district administration has taken decisive action against profiteers and hoarders, launching an operation to control the prices of essential items during the holy month of Ramazan.
According to the price list provided by the Directorate of Municipal Corporation Islamabad, significant relief has been observed for various items, particularly vegetables.
The cost of onions has sharply dropped by Rs 66 per kg, plummeting from Rs 330 to Rs 264 per kg, bringing much-needed relief to consumers. Similarly, tomato prices have seen a notable reduction of Rs 55 per kg, decreasing from Rs 160 to Rs 105 per kg.

Under the vigilant supervision of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates are conducting crackdowns against hoarders and profiteers to curb artificial price inflation and ensure fair market rates for essential commodities.
To maintain transparency and accountability, Price Control Magistrates are conducting thorough inspections across vegetable markets, Ramzan bazaars, and local shops.
During this process, the DC urged the masses to cooperate with the district administration in identifying and checking hoarders and profiteers in the area.
