Islamabad: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Wednesday rejected the federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, denouncing it as “illogical and disconnected” from the ground realities of the country.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Gandapur strongly criticised the federal government, stating that the newly announced budget “has neither head nor tail” and fails to reflect the economic challenges faced by the public.

“This is a bizarre budget. The entire country is gripped by hopelessness, and under such circumstances, launching a movement and taking to the streets has become necessary,” he said.

Gandapur condemned what he described as continued oppression against PTI’s founding leadership, asserting, “It is unacceptable for us to be continuously oppressed. We stand with anyone who raises their voice in support of PTI’s founding leadership.”

He further announced that the KP government would back public demonstrations across the country, expressing solidarity with incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan. “He is standing firm — they are fighting for the nation,” Gandapur added.
