ICT Police Step Up Church Security Ahead of Christmas

Islamabad: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have intensified security measures at churches across the federal capital ahead of Christmas, as zonal SPs carried out visits to various churches and duty points to review preparedness and ensure foolproof security arrangements.

An official told APP on Sunday that the zonal SPs inspected security arrangements at churches and key duty points, where they met officers and personnel deployed on security duties and reviewed the overall checking process.

During the visits, the officers directed personnel to remain alert at all times, ensure effective checking of suspicious individuals and vehicles, and immediately report any suspicious activity to the concerned authorities to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property during Christmas celebrations.

They also stressed that citizens should be treated with courtesy and respect during checking to strengthen public trust in the police.

The official said that ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property remained the top priority of Islamabad Police, adding that all necessary security measures were being implemented to maintain peace and order in the city during the Christmas season.
