ICT Police Solve Blind Murder Case in Bhara Kahu, Two Arrested

Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have successfully solved a blind murder case following the recovery of an unidentified body from a forested area in Dhok Jelani, Bhara Kahu, with two suspects arrested after a detailed investigation.

According to a police spokesperson, a team from the Bhara Kahu Police Station, in collaboration with the Homicide Investigation Unit, apprehended two accused — Naveed Akhtar, son of Adalat Khan, a resident of Abbottabad, and Mujahid Iqbal, son of Allah Bachaya, a resident of Muzaffargarh. The case is registered under FIR No. 410/25, under Sections 302, 201, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The spokesperson said that on May 29, 2025, police recovered a body from the forest near Dhok Jelani. The body was discovered with the legs bound and a cloth wrapped around the neck, making immediate identification challenging. Through scientific and technical means, the deceased was later identified as Subhan, son of Ali Farman, a resident of Abbottabad.

Investigations revealed that the suspects, who were known to the victim, lured him to Sangjani under the guise of a job offer. They later took him to the Dhok Jelani forest, where they allegedly murdered him before fleeing the scene.

Acting on the directives of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, police teams intensified efforts using forensic analysis and intelligence tools. The suspects were traced and subsequently taken into custody.

DIG Tariq praised the efforts of the investigation teams and stated that the suspects would be challaned in court with solid evidence to ensure exemplary punishment. He reaffirmed the Islamabad Police’s commitment to delivering justice and maintaining peace in the capital.

The swift resolution of the case has been appreciated by citizens, who have called for strict legal action against the culprits to deter similar crimes in the future.
