The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration organized the Independence Festival at F-9 Park, marking a significant milestone in the federal capital’s celebration of freedom.

The patriotic fervor was further amplified by the celebration of javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem’s recent gold medal victory at the Paris Olympics, a moment that filled the nation with pride during the festivities.
The festival, with free entry for citizens, offered families a wide array of activities, especially curated for children. Numerous food stalls catered to the tastes of food lovers, ensuring that everyone had something to enjoy.

Meanwhile, the federal government has declared that February 5, known as Kashmir Day, will be observed as a national holiday.
According to a notification from the Cabinet Division, a one-minute silence will be observed at 10 am on this day.
Annually in Pakistan, February 5 is dedicated to Kashmir Day to express solidarity and support for the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The Kashmir issue remains a contentious point between Pakistan and India, with Islamabad consistently urging the international community to conduct a plebiscite in the disputed territory.
Tensions escalated when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi unilaterally decided to revoke Article 370 of the Indian Constitution on August 5, 2019, which granted special status to the IIOJK. This move sparked global outrag.
Pakistan has emphasized that normalizing ties with its nuclear neighbor is contingent upon the restoration of Kashmir’s special status.
