Islamabad: A detailed report outlining the facilities provided to former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail has been submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The three-page report, filed by the superintendent of Adiala Jail, describes the living conditions and amenities available to the 73-year-old cricketer-turned-politician, who has been incarcerated since August 2023 following convictions in multiple cases that he maintains were politically motivated after his removal from office through a parliamentary vote in 2022.

According to the report, Imran Khan is housed in a seven-cell compound featuring a 57-foot-long and 14-foot-wide corridor adjacent to the 35/37 lawn. The compound has the capacity to accommodate 30 to 35 inmates.

The document states that the former premier spends time in the lawn reading books and newspapers and has access to sunlight. For physical activity, he is provided with a cycling machine and other gym equipment.

The report also details his daily diet. Breakfast includes dates, walnuts, honey, coffee, porridge, lassi, warm milk, chia seeds and pomegranate juice. Lunch comprises desi chicken, mutton, salad, mixed pickles, potato chips, fried eggs and assorted lentils. In the evening, he consumes a shake prepared with almonds, raisins, grated coconut, milk, dates, bananas and apples.

It further notes that he has access to natural light and fresh air throughout the day and is being kept in a secure environment with appropriate facilities.

Last week, Imran Khan’s counsel informed the Supreme Court that he had experienced a significant loss of vision in his right eye while in custody. A medical board subsequently reported that swelling had reduced following treatment and that his eyesight had improved.
