Historic AJK Package Signals Pakistan’s Firm Stand on Kashmir

Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while unveiling an unprecedented development package for Pakistan-administered Kashmir on Wednesday, reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast political, diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmir cause, underscoring that the struggle for self-determination would continue in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
- Key highlights of Shehbaz Speech:
1.Paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, stating that Kashmiris may sacrifice their lives but will never compromise on freedom.
2.Emphasized that durable peace in South Asia is impossible without resolving the Kashmir dispute and ending India’s hegemonic policies.
3.Declared Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugular vein”, reiterating Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s stance as the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
4.Paid homage to Kashmiri martyrs and leaders, including Burhan Wani, Syed Ali Geelani, Asiya Andrabi, Yasin Malik and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, acknowledging their sacrifices.

- Establishment of Danish Schools and a world-class Danish University in Muzaffarabad

- Expansion of water supply schemes, hydropower projects and bridge construction
