Health Crisis: Three Punjab Cities Report 214 News Dengue Cases

Rawalpindi/Lahore/Faisalabad: As many as 214 dengue cases were reported in three Punjab cities during the last 24 hours.
According to data released by the relevant district health departments, Lahore recorded 168 dengue cases, Rawalpindi 41 and Faisalabad five.
A total of 4,999 confirmed dengue cases have been reported in Punjab this year, revealed health authorities. Lahore leads the tally with 1,953 cases, closely followed by Rawalpindi with 1,404, Multan 583, Faisalabad 226, and Gujranwala with 225 cases.
The situation remains serious, with an additional 46 new dengue cases reported in Lahore, 64 in Rawalpindi, 21 in Multan, five in Faisalabad, and 12 in Gujranwala, while two cases were reported each from Sheikhupura, Chakwal, Sargodha, Khanewal, and Lodharan. Kasur, Muzaffargarh, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Sahiwal, Okara, Mandi Bahauddin, Vehari, and Bhakkar each confirmed one new dengue case during the same time frame.
Presently, 129 dengue patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, with 50 of them hospitalised in Lahore alone.
Punjab Health Secretary Ali Jaan Khan issued a plea to citizens, urging them to maintain clean and dry surroundings as a crucial preventive measure against dengue fever.

Dengue situation in Pindi
District Coordinator of Epidemics Prevention and Control (DCEPC) Dr Sajjad Mehmood stated that 41 new dengue cases were reported in Rawalpindi during the last 24 hours, raising the tally of confirmed cases to 1,506 in the district.
Among the new cases, 22 had arrived from Potohar town urban, ten from Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi, four from Chaklala, two from Rawalpindi cantonment, and three from outside the district, added Dr Sajjad.
Mehmood further stated that 165 patients were admitted to district hospitals, of which 130 were confirmed cases and 1,376 were discharged after treatment.
District Coordinator informed that the district administration has registered 39 FIRs, issued tickets to five, sealed one premise, and imposed a fine of Rs 14,500 against the violations of dengue SOPs during the last 24 hours.
During indoor surveillance in the last 24 hours, the teams checked 15,863 houses and found larvae in 782 homes. Similarly, while checking 4,367 places, the teams found larvae at 55 sites during outdoor surveillance.
Meanwhile, as many as 227 dengue patients have so far been admitted to various hospitals in the Faisalabad district.
Pandemic Coordinator Dr Rana Saleem Khan said on Thursday that five new dengue patients had been brought into hospitals over the last 24 hours, of which three belonged to Faisalabad, one from each district of Chiniot and Sheikhupura.
Dr Rana told that most of the patients have been recovered and discharged. Health teams are ready to cope with any situation in the district, he added. APP
