Hanif Abbasi hails Rawalpindi team’s inclusion in PSL 11

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Thursday congratulated the Rawalpindi franchise on its inclusion in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, calling it a major milestone for the city’s sporting landscape.

Chairman of the Rawalpindi team, Mohabat Khan, called on the minister to brief him on the franchise’s vision and future strategy, according to a statement issued here.

Abbasi described the addition of the Rawalpindi team as a “great honour” for the city, saying it would create fresh opportunities for emerging cricketers and strengthen the domestic talent pool.

He lauded Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for expanding the league and attracting new investment into the country’s premier T20 tournament.

“The inclusion of new franchises will further promote cricket and positively impact Pakistan’s sports economy,” Abbasi said, expressing confidence that the Rawalpindi team would help nurture local talent and contribute to the overall development of the game in the country.
