Islamabad: During a recent earnings call, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot shared insights on the impact of Rockstar Games’ highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) on the gaming industry.

Guillemot described GTA 6 as a positive development, noting that its release is likely to attract more players to gaming in general.

He cited Ubisoft’s experience with Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which achieved record sales despite launching shortly after GTA V—a trend Guillemot found unexpectedly beneficial for Ubisoft.

Rockstar Games has confirmed GTA 6 will debut in Fall 2025, with details remaining scarce.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft unveiled Assassin’s Creed Shadows, set in feudal Japan with two playable characters, which has sparked controversy in Japan over historical accuracy.
