Govt’s Commitment to Empower Youth, Women Highlighted

Rawalpindi: Brigadier Babar Ala-ud-Din emphasized the government’s commitment to providing essential tools and opportunities for youth and women to contribute to Pakistan’s growth and prosperity during an event at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) on Wednesday.

In his address, Brigadier Babar focused on two key areas. The first part addressed misconceptions and negativity surrounding the armed forces and government institutions, offering clarity and insights based on his extensive experience.

The second part highlighted the Chief Minister’s initiatives aimed at empowering youth and women, discussing various programs designed to enhance skill development, education, and entrepreneurship.

The session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem and the FJWU anthem. FJWU Vice Chancellor praised the university’s dedication to education and women’s empowerment. A documentary showcasing the university’s history and achievements was also presented.

During an interactive session, students presented innovative startups featuring eco-friendly products made from agricultural waste and bamboo, as well as gluten-free offerings. Brigadier Ala-ud-Din and the Chief Minister’s team praised the creativity of the students and pledged support for the further development of their ideas.

A mime performance added a creative touch to the event, followed by a Q&A session where students engaged with Brigadier Ala-ud-Din in depth.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Uzaira Rafique provided an overview of FJWU, highlighting its key initiatives, the start of classes at the Chakri campus, and the significant role FJWU plays as Pakistan’s first women’s university in advancing women’s empowerment. She also commended the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Punjab Government for their valuable contributions to the education sector, recognizing their support in fostering progress and opportunities for women’s education in the country.

The event was hailed as a resounding success, reinforcing FJWU’s role in nurturing the next generation of empowered youth and fostering connections between academia and key governmental figures.
