Gold, silver prices surge sharply in local, global markets

Islamabad: Gold prices recorded a sharp rise in both domestic and international markets on Saturday, with the price of 24-karat gold per tola increasing by Rs 6,500 to reach Rs 521,162, according to market sources.
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reported that the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold rose by Rs 5,573 to Rs 446,812, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold increased by Rs 5,109 to Rs 409,592.
Internationally, gold prices climbed by $65 to $4,988 per ounce, reflecting continued volatility and strong demand in global bullion markets.
Silver prices also followed an upward trend. The price of 24-karat silver per tola surged by Rs 526 to Rs 10,801, while the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs 451 to Rs 9,260.

On the global market, silver prices increased by $5.26 to settle at $103.26 per ounce.
Market analysts attributed the surge to fluctuations in international commodity markets and investor movement toward safe-haven assets amid ongoing economic uncertainty.
