French Montana Engaged to Dubai Royal, Families Await Wedding Date

News Desk

Dubai: Moroccan-American rapper French Montana is officially engaged to Sheikha Mahra Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, marking a union that bridges the worlds of hip-hop and Middle Eastern royalty.

The engagement, first reported by TMZ, reportedly took place during Paris Fashion Week in June, shortly after Montana made his runway debut. Representatives of the rapper, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, have confirmed the news.

Sheikha Mahra has been in the public eye for her bold and unconventional choices. In July 2024, she drew global attention after announcing her divorce from Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum via Instagram with a blunt note declaring, “I divorce you” three times. The couple shares a daughter. Following the high-profile split, she launched a luxury perfume brand aptly named Divorce.

Rumors of her romance with Montana first surfaced in October 2024, when photos emerged of the princess showing him around Dubai. The pair made their relationship public this summer, appearing hand in hand at several Paris Fashion Week events.

While a wedding date has yet to be finalized, sources told TMZ that both families are “excited about the development.” The engagement has already sparked global media buzz, not only for the star power of the rapper but also for the rare glimpse it offers into the personal life of Dubai’s royal family.
