Islamabad: A French citizen named Muhammad Bolabiyar embarked on a remarkable journey to Saudi Arabia with the goal of performing Umrah, covering a staggering 8,000 kilometers on foot through 13 countries.
According to reports from Saudi media, Bolabiyar began his journey from Paris, facing various challenges along the way, particularly with weather fluctuations.
He encountered everything from summer heat to winter snowstorms, with one particularly difficult delay caused by a snowstorm at the Greek border.
Despite the obstacles, Bolabiyar expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received from people in the Gulf countries, who generously offered him food and drink.
His journey, which commenced from the Eiffel Tower on August 27 the previous year, took him through Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, and Jordan before finally reaching Saudi Arabia.
Throughout his expedition, Bolabiyar slept in a tent or sought shelter in mosques, reflecting on the physical and mental preparation he underwent over two years.
He revealed that his lifelong dream was to follow in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions by making the pilgrimage to Makkah on foot, a dream he has now fulfilled with joy and gratitude.
