Four Khwarij Killed, Four Soldiers Martyred in North Waziristan

Rawalpindi: Security forces on Thursday killed four Khwarij terrorists after foiling their attempt to breach the security perimeter of a military camp in the general area of Boya, North Waziristan district.
According to a news release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack was carried out on December 19 by Khwarij terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Khwarij.
The statement said the assailants attempted to breach the camp’s perimeter but their nefarious designs were swiftly thwarted by the vigilant and resolute response of the troops.
In a desperate move, the attackers rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the outer perimeter wall, causing its collapse and resulting in significant damage to nearby civilian infrastructure, including a mosque.
The blast also inflicted severe injuries on 15 local civilians, including women and children, and damaged several homes in the vicinity.
“Displaying unwavering courage and professional excellence, own troops engaged the intruders with precision, as a result of which all four Khwarij terrorists were neutralized,” the ISPR said.
However, during the intense exchange of fire, four brave soldiers embraced martyrdom while fighting gallantly. The martyred personnel were identified as Havildar Muhammad Waqas (42) of Kotli district, Naik Khanwaiz (38) of Mansehra district, Sepoy Sufyan Haider (25) of Vehari district, and Sepoy Riffat (32) of Layyah district.
The ISPR stated that the heinous terrorist act was planned and orchestrated by Afghanistan-based Khwarij, contradicting repeated claims by the Afghan Taliban regime regarding the non-presence of terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil.
Pakistan expects the interim Afghan government to fulfil its obligations and deny the use of its territory by Khwarij elements against Pakistan, the statement said, adding that the safety and security of Pakistan’s citizens remain the top priority.
“Pakistan reserves the right to pursue and eliminate Khwarij terrorists as well as their facilitators and affiliates to ensure the protection of its people,” the ISPR added.
