Four-Day Holiday Likely in Lahore for Basant Celebrations

Lahore: Residents of Lahore are likely to enjoy a four-day holiday during the Basant celebrations scheduled for the first week of February.

According to official sources, Thursday, February 5, is already a public holiday on account of Kashmir Day, followed by the regular weekend holidays on Saturday and Sunday. The provincial administration is also considering declaring Friday a holiday, which would result in four consecutive days off.

Officials said the proposal to grant an additional holiday aims to make the Basant festivities memorable while ensuring public safety. Reduced working days are expected to lower traffic congestion in the city and decrease the number of motorcycles on the roads during the celebrations.

Basant festivities have been announced in Lahore from February 6 to 8.

Authorities are expected to make a formal announcement regarding the additional holiday in the coming days.
