Former Senator Afridi Dies from Injuries in Kohat Explosion

Kohat: Former Senator Abbas Afridi has died from injuries sustained in a gas explosion earlier this week in Kohat, family sources confirmed.

The incident occurred in the Azam Bagh area on Wednesday, where a gas leak led to an explosion, critically injuring Afridi along with three others. He was immediately transferred to a burn center for specialized treatment but succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.

According to police, the blast was caused by the accumulation of gas inside the premises, resulting in a sudden and powerful explosion.

Family members said that funeral prayers for the late senator will be offered in Babri Banda, Kohat.

Three other individuals who were injured in the incident are currently under medical care and remain in stable condition, authorities added.
