Forest Guard Attacked by Alleged Timber Thieves

Khanewal: A forest guard was reportedly assaulted by alleged timber thieves and their accomplices, including women, while attempting to recover government-owned wood near Chak No. 116/10-R in the Thatha Sadiqabad area.

According to officials, forest guard Ishtiaq Ahmad and his team intercepted suspects Abdul Rasheed, Muhammad Imran, and Mazhar Hussain near the 10-R Canal, who were allegedly transporting illegally cut timber from state-owned forest land.

While the forest team initially recovered the seized wood, the situation escalated when the accused, joined by at least four unidentified women, attacked the officials.

The suspects reportedly assaulted the forest guard, reclaimed the timber, and issued threats.Thatha Sadiqabad Police have registered a case based on the forest guard’s complaint against the named suspects and unknown women.

Authorities said an investigation is ongoing, with efforts underway to apprehend all individuals involved in the incident.
