Fog blankets Islamabad, ITP urges commuters to exercise caution

Islamabad: Dense fog on Tuesday reduced visibility in parts of the federal capital, prompting the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) to advise citizens to exercise caution while travelling.

An ITP official said motorists and motorcyclists should slow down, maintain safe distances, and strictly follow traffic rules to ensure their own safety as well as that of other road users.

The official added that traffic police personnel have been deployed on major roads to facilitate commuters and manage traffic amid foggy conditions.

Citizens were urged to cooperate with traffic police and avoid unnecessary travel until visibility improves.

In case of emergency or for assistance, commuters can contact the Traffic Helpline at 1915 or Pucar-15.

Dense fog disrupts life and flight operations in Peshawar
Dense fog has enveloped Peshawar, severely disrupting daily life and air travel on Tuesday, as visibility dropped to as low as 50 meters.
Like several other parts of the country, Peshawar is experiencing intensified cold weather, resulting in heavy fog across the region.
At Bacha Khan International Airport, flight operations were badly affected, with several flights cancelled and others delayed due to extremely poor visibility.
Airport authorities suspended and delayed flights as a safety precaution, citing critical visibility conditions. Passengers have been advised to stay in contact with airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules.
Meanwhile, authorities have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution while driving, as low visibility continues to pose serious risks on roads throughout the city.
