Flour, Seed, Feed Mills Begin Wheat Procurement
News Desk
Islamabad: Flour mills aim to acquire 10 lakh tonnes of wheat, while feed mills and seed mills have reportedly set their sights on purchasing 10 lakh tonnes and 6 lakh tonnes of wheat, respectively.
According to industry insiders, this year the government will capitalize on the open policy.
Sources reveal that, for the first time, the private sector is engaging in wheat procurement openly, rather than relying solely on the government.
Currently, wheat with moisture content below 10 percent is priced at Rs3,350, while wheat with moisture content up to 20 percent commands around Rs3,000.
The Punjab government has reiterated its stance of abstaining from wheat procurement for the time being.
