Lahore: Five Pakistani nationals were deported from Sharjah for attempting to travel to the United Kingdom on fake visas and were taken into custody upon arrival at Lahore Airport, officials said on Friday.
The deported individuals were identified as Waqar Anjum, Tayyab Iftikhar, Ali Shan, Malik Zaheer, and Malik Zeeshan.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the men had earlier traveled from Lahore to Malaysia on visit visas. After their stay, they attempted to fly from Sharjah to the UK using forged travel documents arranged through agents.
Authorities in Sharjah detected the fake visas and immediately deported the suspects to Pakistan. They were handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Lahore, where further investigation is underway.
In a separate incident the same day, FIA Immigration Lahore foiled another attempt involving fraudulent travel documents.

A passenger identified as Mehran Ahmed, a resident of Gujranwala, was off-loaded from Qatar Airways flight QR-629 while attempting to travel to Spain using a passport obtained through false identification.
Officials flagged him during immigration clearance when his physical appearance did not match the photograph on the passport.
During interrogation, Ahmed admitted he is already a resident of Spain and had previously traveled on his old passport. He revealed that while renewing his passport online, he used his brother’s photograph, intending to later take his brother to Spain using the same document.
He was handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for legal proceedings.
The FIA spokesperson said strict screening measures—including biometric and photographic verification—are in place at airports to detect resemblance fraud, misuse of old passports, and identity-related forgery. Authorities reiterated that action against such attempts will continue.
