Five Pakistani Players Storm into Asian Junior Squash Semifinals

Karachi: Pakistani youngsters continued their impressive performance at the 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championship, with five players advancing to the semifinals across various age categories after strong showings in the quarterfinals.
In the Boys U19 category, Abdullah Nawaz delivered a clinical straight-games victory over Wong Wing Kuen of Hong Kong, winning 11-4, 11-4, 11-6 to book his place in the last four.
The Boys U15 category saw two Pakistanis progress with dominant displays. Top seed Nauman Khan overpowered India’s Harshal Rana 11-6, 11-5, 11-7, while Ahmed Rayan Khalil outclassed Malaysia’s Armann Merzha bin Ashraff 11-7, 11-3, 11-3.
In the Boys U13 division, top-seeded Sohail Adnan eased into the semifinals after defeating India’s Abhyuday Arora with a commanding 11-2, 11-8, 11-2 scoreline.
Pakistan also registered success in the Girls U13 category, where Mahnoor Ali triumphed over India’s Anika Kalanki in straight games, winning 11-6, 11-2, 11-3.
However, Pakistan’s hopes in the Girls U15 event took a hit as Sehrish Ali was knocked out after a straight-sets defeat to Malaysia’s Siti Syaurah A Sufian, who prevailed 11-4, 11-7, 11-2.
With five semifinalists across four age brackets, Pakistan remains firmly in contention for multiple medals as the championship moves into its final stages.
