Five killed, several injured road accident near Chakwal

Islamabad: At least five people were killed and 27 others, including seven women, were injured when a bus plunged into a ravine near Chakwal in the early hours of Wednesday.
Police officials said the tragic accident occurred in the Dhok Pathan area when a bus traveling from Rawalpindi to Karachi plunged into a deep ravine while negotiating a sharp turn, killing five people on the spot and injuring at least 27 others, a private news channel reported.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving information and shifted the deceased and injured to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, Talagang.
Rescue officials warned that the death toll could rise, as several of the injured were reported to be in critical condition.
