First of 2024 Total Solar Eclipse Graces the Skies Today

News Desk

Islamabad: Today marks the first total solar eclipse of 2024, a rare event not to be seen again for another 20 years. It’s predicted to last for about 4 minutes and 27 seconds.

Starting around 11 am local time in Mexico, parts of the Earth will be cast into darkness as the moon moves between the sun and us.

While the eclipse will be visible in the United States and Canada, it’ll either be total or partial.

Unfortunately, due to the timing falling between April 8 and 9, Pakistan won’t get to witness it because of the nightfall.

As per the Department of Meteorology, the eclipse will kick off at 8:42 pm Pakistan time, reach its peak at 11:17 pm, and wrap up by 1:52 am.
