Two Officers Including SP Martyred in Mardan

Islamabad: 2 officials including Superintendent of Police (SP) were martyred while 4 officials including DSP were injured in firing in Mardan and Peshawar cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to “Dawn News”, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police said that terrorists opened fire on the police in Mardan’s Zada Mata area, as a result of which SP Ijaz Khan was martyred.

The police said that 3 other officials including the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) were also injured in the attack, the injured officials were immediately shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.

Later, the funeral prayer of Shaheed SP Ijaz Khan was performed at Police Line Mardan, after which the body of the martyr was sent to his native Charsadda for burial.

Police officers including Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mardan Sulaiman Khan, District Police Officer (DPO) Najibur Rahman participated in the funeral prayer.

On the other hand, in the limits of Phandu police station in the provincial capital, Peshawar, the officials signaled the suspicious motorcyclists to stop.

One officer of Ababil Force was martyred and another was injured due to firing by the accused.

According to the police, both officers were posted in Gulbahar police station, the injured officer was shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.
