Fire Breaks Out in Margalla Hills Near Bara Kahu

Islamabad: A fire broke out in the Margalla Hills on Saturday, triggering an emergency response from the district administration and fire services.

Officials said firefighting teams were dispatched immediately after flames were reported in the forest area near Bara Kahu.

According to a spokesman for the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration, the fire erupted in the Nurpur Range of the Margalla Hills, close to forested land adjacent to Bara Kahu.

Thick smoke was seen rising from the area, prompting swift action by authorities. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Firefighters, along with water tenders and ground teams, are actively engaged in efforts to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby parts of the hills.

Officials said the operation is ongoing and being closely monitored.

The district administration stated that coordinated efforts are underway between fire services and local authorities to bring the fire under control at the earliest and minimize potential risks to surrounding areas.

No reports of injuries or damage to nearby settlements have been received so far.
