Sargodha: Health experts urged people to take precautionary measures to avoid waterborne diseases during the monsoon season.

Dr Nasar Ranjha, a Senior Medical Specialist at DHQ Sargodha, emphasized the importance of awareness and preparedness in preventing these ailments.

“Monsoon diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and dengue pose significant health risks, and it is crucial for people to take necessary precautions,” Dr Ranjha stated.

He stressed that early detection and treatment are essential to prevent complications and save lives.

Dr. Ranjha recommended consuming fresh food, thoroughly washing fruits and vegetables before eating, and taking preventive vaccines against hepatitis A, typhoid, and the flu. He also advised regularly cleaning water containers and drinking only boiled water.

The monsoon season heightens the risk of infections due to various factors, and many people may experience gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. He also cautioned that children should avoid swimming in stagnant water to prevent waterborne diseases.
