England Beat Pakistan 4–1 to Win FIH World Cup Qualifier

Islamabad: England defeated Pakistan 4–1 in the final of the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers held in Ismailia, Egypt, on Saturday.

England dominated the match from the beginning and maintained control throughout the four quarters to secure a convincing victory.

The opening quarter remained goalless as both teams struggled to break the deadlock. England finally took the lead in the second quarter when Samuel Hooper converted a penalty corner to make it 1–0.

England extended their advantage in the third quarter as Hooper struck again from another penalty corner, doubling the lead to 2–0.

Pakistan fought back later in the same quarter when Waleed Rana scored to reduce the deficit to 2–1, briefly reviving hopes for the Green Shirts.

However, England regained control in the final quarter, adding two more goals to seal a comfortable 4–1 victory and clinch the title.

Despite the defeat in the final, Pakistan had an impressive run in the tournament and had already secured qualification for the 2026 Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup by reaching the final.

Pakistan advanced to the title clash after edging past Japan 4–3 in a thrilling semifinal encounter.
