Islamabad: SpaceX, led by renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk, recently launched its powerful rocket, Starship, into space from southeast Texas at 8:25 am local time on Thursday (March 14).

The launch was authorized by the US Aviation Agency.

However, during its return to Earth, the SpaceX base lost contact with the Starship rocket, leading to its destruction before it could land as intended in the Indian Ocean.

According to reports from the foreign news agency AFP, the last footage of the rocket showed sparks emanating from the rocket’s heat shield.

Despite this setback, NASA chief Bill Nelson referred to the mission as a ‘successful test flight’ on social media platform X. Elon Musk highlighted that the Starship rocket had flown further and faster than its previous two test flights.

It’s noteworthy that this launch comes after two prior test flights of Starship ended in failure.
