Eight Volunteers Killed in Gilgit Landslide

Islamabad: At least eight volunteers lost their lives and several others were injured on Monday when a landslide struck during restoration work on the Dinur drain in flood-hit Gilgit.
According to a private news channel and official rescue sources, the volunteers were working to restore water flow in the drain when a section of the hillside collapsed, burying 15 people.
The deceased were identified as Pyar Ali, Naik Alam, Adam Ali, Azharuddin, Afaq Azhar, and Dildar. Seven victims died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries later.
Three people, including Aziz Aman and Anwar, sustained serious injuries, while two others received minor injuries.
