ECP to Start Delimitation for Capital LG Elections

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has instructed authorities to begin the delimitation process for Local Government (LG) elections in the Federal Capital under the amended Local Government Act 2015.

Chairing a meeting, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja expressed frustration over persistent delays in holding LG elections, noting the delimitation process had been completed four times due to repeated amendments in election laws.

Despite setbacks, the ECP resolved to proceed with delimitation once again, stressing the urgency of timely elections. Authorities were directed to finalize and submit the delimitation schedule for approval.

The Commission reiterated its commitment to upholding democratic processes and ensuring that LG elections in the Federal Capital are conducted without further delays.
