Earthquake Tremors Felt in Parts of Sindh, Balochistan

Islamabad: Several districts of Sindh and Balochistan experienced earthquake tremors on Thursday, according to the Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Tremors were reported in Sukkur, Jacobabad and Dadu in Sindh, as well as Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi and Naseerabad in Balochistan, along with surrounding areas.

In Khuzdar, two separate tremors were recorded — the first at 10:52am and the second at 11:30am. The latter measured 5.6 on the Richter scale.

Seismological data showed that the epicentre of the second quake was located approximately 86 kilometres northeast of Khuzdar, the Seismic Monitoring Centre said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. Authorities are monitoring the situation.
