Earthquake Jolts Swat, Surrounding Areas

Swat:  A moderate earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted Swat and its adjoining areas on Wednesday, triggering panic among residents. However, no casualties or property damage have been reported so far.

According to the Seismological Centre, the tremor originated at a depth of 61 kilometers, with its epicenter located in the Hindu Kush mountain range.

Tremors were felt in Mingora, Matta, Barikot, and several nearby towns across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Local authorities confirmed that there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage to infrastructure, though monitoring efforts are ongoing.

Residents evacuated homes and buildings during the tremors, but normalcy returned shortly after.
