Earthquake Jolts Pak-Afghan Border, Triggers Panic

Islamabad: A powerful earthquake struck the Pak-Afghan border region on Wednesday morning, sending waves of panic among residents in various areas, including Zhob and its surroundings.
According to the National Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 5.0 on the Richter scale and had a depth of 65 kilometers. The epicenter was located in Afghanistan’s Hindukush mountainous region, a seismically active zone known for frequent tremors.
The sudden jolt forced residents to rush out of their homes and buildings in fear. However, despite the intensity of the tremors, no casualties or significant property damage have been reported so far.
Local authorities and disaster management teams are closely monitoring the situation, as residents remain apprehensive about possible aftershocks. The region has experienced several earthquakes in the past, making seismic activity a constant concern for the local population.
