Lahore: A thick blanket of fog enveloped Lahore and surrounding areas today, severely reducing visibility and causing significant disruptions to traffic.
As a safety measure, the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2) and Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11) have been closed, alongside the Lahore Ring Road, according to a traffic police spokesperson.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Ammara Athar, has ordered additional personnel to be stationed at all major entry and exit points across the city to manage the increased traffic within urban areas resulting from the closures.
Sector officers have been directed to closely monitor these key points.
“With the closure of major routes, there is an unusual influx of traffic within the city,” stated CTO Ammara Athar, stressing the need for heightened vigilance.
To improve safety, all traffic personnel have been advised to use reflectors and flasher lights to enhance visibility and reduce risks on the roads.
